WHAT IS TEEN COURT
It’s an organization for teens to teach them the laws of
the land so they won’t have to appear in a real court or do jail time.
Students who sit and listen to the defendant and the case against
them, then come up with the appropriate sentence to fit the crime. This teaches them what happens when the wrong choice
is made. Everything you do effects another person in someway...
Students who help keep the records together on each case. One
who calls the docket for the judge and help with other paperwork for the coordinator? This will help them learn filing,
and secretary work.
Student that keep order in the courtroom, assist the judge when needed. Announce the judge by giving the
order “ALL RISE, THE HONORABLE JUDGE ____ PRESIDING”. This teaches them to speak
up in front of the public. To give orders.
Students that have been trained by our local attorney to argue
the sentence for or against the defendant. Chance to examine possible career opportunities. Learning valuable skills
and public speaking.
Students who have broken the law and received a ticket for the action. Taking responsibility of their
actions.
